Save Money with Artificial Flowers

I know many of you buy fresh flowers weekly to enhance your home, office, or Salon.

Why not buy a small bunch of artificial flowers that will look good for several weeks and save money.

My beauty therapist bought half a dozen tulips and some Eucalyptus early this year, then added a couple of delphiniums. They still look good.

Glass Vase or Ceramic

Either.  The good thing with pottery vases is that no one can tell if there is water – denoting Fresh flowers- in there.

You can always put a small amount of water in the bottom of a glass vase but it is a good idea to change it occasionally.  The wire inside the stem can cause some rusting and discolouration.  There are Aqua flowers - particularly roses - on the market where the base of the stem is sealed, and they can happily go in a vase with fresh flowers and water.

Size of vase

Height of the vase in relation to the flower stems is important. It is good to have flowers that are double the height of the vase for smaller arrangements or one and a half times the height for a bigger arrangement.  If your vase has a wide neck, it will need a lot more stems to fill it to look good.  A smallish neck is best to give support.

Height of stems.

Check the height of the stems on the website.  They don’t all have to be the same height, some variation gives some interest but you don’t want something at 20cms with stems of 50cms.

Colour

I am lucky. As I walk among my stock, I can see flowers that complement each other. This is where our bunches etc., come into play. It would be brilliant to have a vase on the website so that you could pick and place your flowers to see what they look like but I think that is still a long way off so we must do it for you. Check out Arrangements and Bunches to see the various colours and flowers we have put together.  Most of them are ‘one off’ arrangements but it is possible to put similar ones together. Sometimes they have flowers that are no longer available and if we have just one or two left, we will make up an arrangement to use them
