Wintersweet  (Chimonathus) comes into bloom in the dead of winter.  It is usually yellow in colour but this is a good and fresh White. I think it is nicer than the real thing but it doesn't have the lovely smell. Normally the petals are more pointed than this but it is a pretty and elegant stem full of flower heads and spiky leaves that will fill many an arrangement.
